A list of the fields that appear in the NHTSA section:

Field

Description

Status

If this PGA is non-applicable, select the status to Disclaimed, followed by a Disclaim Reason Code.

Disclaim Reason Code

If the PGA is non-applicable, select Disclaimed for the Status and then you must also select a disclaim reason code. This provides a clear and explicit flagging for these disclaim situations.

Description

Description for the NHTSA details.

Category Code

Select the category code from the drop-down list. This supports the U.S. Customs PGA requirements related to ACE.

Sub-Category Code

Select the sub-category code from the drop-down list. This supports the U.S. Customs PGA requirements related to ACE.

Box Number

The box number describes the type of claim and information the importer is filing. This information is required to be submitted to NHTSA (National Highway Transportation Safety Administration) HS-7 Form. Values in the drop-down list are:

  • 01 - Vehicle > 25 years old

  • 03 - Non-conforming vehicle

  • 04 - Non-conforming vehicle or equipment for export only

  • 05 - Non-conforming vehicle with passport number

  • 06 - Non-conforming vehicle registered with embassy

  • 07 - Non-conforming vehicle or equipment for research

  • 08 - Vehicle not for use on public roads

  • 09 - Vehicle or equipment requiring further manufacturing

  • 11 - Equipment marked per theft prevention standards

  • 12 - Non-conforming vehicle used by foreign service persons

  • 2A - Conforming vehicle or equipment

  • 2B - Conforming vehicle imported for personal use

Make

The make of the vehicle.

Model

The model of the vehicle.

Year

Year the model was made.

Country of Origin

Select the origin country of the product from drop-down list.

Brand Name

Brand name of the product.

Tire Manufacturer

The tire manufacturer ID and name.

Glazing Manufacturer Code

Enter the glazing manufacturer code. This supports the U.S. Customs PGA requirements related to ACE.

Notes

Space for notes.

Bond Number

Identifies the surety company assigned to the DOT bond.

Drive Side

Select the drive side code from the drop-down list. This supports the U.S. Customs PGA requirements related to ACE.

Registered Importer Number

Identification for the company making the non-conforming vehicle modification.

Vehicle Eligibility Number

Identifies non-conforming vehicles assigned by the NHTSA.

Permission Letter Number

Enter the permission letter number. This supports the U.S. Customs PGA requirements related to ACE.

Passport Number

Importer's passport number if the vehicle is imported.

Clarification

Choose from the drop-down list whether the shipment contains vehicles, equipment or tires.

Tire Brand Name

The tire brand name.

Official Permission on File?

Select Yes if the importer has an approval letter on file.

Substantiation Document Required?

Select Yes if the importer has a substantiating letter of contract.

Trade Partners

Click Add New Partner to add additional trade partners.

Code

Enter the supplier/vendor's Trade Partner ID by entering the reference or clicking Look-up icon to select.

Role

Select the role of the Trade Partner from the drop-down list.
